What is the difference between AlbumWizz and other online photo albums?
The major difference is that you can add metadata, i.e. information about your pictures. We think that a photograph becomes much more interesting if you also tell when, where and by whom it was shot and add a story behind it.

Once you provide such information, you can display your pictures in any order, for example, by picture date, by place, etc.

For each picture, you can provide the list of persons (or objects of any kind), which are present in that picture. You can use our rectangle tool to mark where each is person in a group picture (click here for an example; them move the mouse over the names or people heads)). You can ask AlbumWizz to show you only pictures featuring, say, Uncle Joe.

How do I start?
You subscribe to AlbumWizz using our sign-up form. You select your username and password and provide your email address. We email you back a message with instructions, and you can immediately start administering your site.

Your site has two entrances, the "admin entrance" for you and the "front entrance" for all visitors. The admin entrance is password-protected. You use it to upload your pictures, provide their descriptions and set up your site. At any moment you can view your site via the front entrance and see how your changes are reflected.

How much does the subscription cost?
You are invited to test AlbumWizz free of charge for 30 days. If by the end of that period you decide to stay with us, you are kindly requested to subscribe for a year. The annual subscription price currently stands at US$13.95. Alternatively, you can make a monthly subscription, at US$$1.45 a month.

How much disk space can I use?
You can use up to 100 megabytes disk space for your pictures and data. This is quite a lot: at the time we write this page, our sample site, Dr. Alex Hiking Club Photo Album, has 114 pictures and occupies only 7 megabytes.

The Your Account page shows you your current disk space allocation and its usage.

What happens if I don't subscribe?
If, after the initial 30-day trial period, you don't subscribe, we will keep your site online for another month, but you won't be able to make any changes in it (e.g., add new pictures). After that, we will have to delete your data. We rent disk space from a hosting service, and we need your subscription fees to pay for it.

What is a folder?
If you have many pictures from different periods and events, you may wish do divide them into folders.

When you upload a picture, you can choose the folder to which this picture belongs. When a visitor comes to your site, he/she will be able to select a folder and view only pictures in that folder.
